Llandovery is a quiet, pretty market town. The fine King’s Head building is where the Black Ox Bank was first opened in 1799. A giant steel statue of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan towers over the car park.

Sennybridge (nearest large village)
In Sennybridge there are 2 garages and pubs along with various shops, a Post Office and an excellent pottery.
Sennybridge is within easy reach of the Porth-yr-Ogof Caves, Dan-yr-Ogof Caves the award winning showcaves, dinosaur park, dry ski slope, Aberglasney House, Dinefwr Gardens, Middleton Hall, pony trekking and the waterfall country at Ystradfellte renown for the many scenic walks beside the water-falls.

The Griffin at Felin Fach
Menus change daily and seasonally. In winter you might have venison from the nearby Welsh Venison Centre, or in summer Welsh lamb with peas picked that morning from their own kitchen garden.

The Shoemakers Arms
A lovely little pub nestled in the country village of Pentrebach.
The Shoemakers arms was originally four cottages built around C . 1800,to serve as workers cottages for the manor house of Aberllech, the large house on the right as you enter Pentre Bach
In the words of the landlord Perry ” Our food is simple hot and hopefully quick. If you are not in a tearing hurry you will always get some food ” We love this place and can highly recommend it.
